The Bonneville nameplate began in 1957 as a limited-production performance convertible named for the Utah salt flats, with 630 built that first year, all fuel-injected. The name ran until 2005. The SSEi topped the range with a supercharged 3.8-liter V6 rated at 205 hp, and for 1994 the supercharger update raised that to 225 hp. A facelift came for 1996, and the car stayed unchanged through 1999 before an all-new one arrived for 2000.
