STORY

Pontiac introduced the Firebird on February 23, 1967, five months after the Chevrolet Camaro it shared a platform with. The Trans Am package arrived in March 1969, and the second generation was delayed to February 26, 1970. Its 1977 Trans Am gained fame in Smokey and the Bandit, and the W72 version of the 400 V8 was rated at 200 hp that year. The third generation came in 1982 with pop-up headlights, and the fourth in 1993 offered the 5.7-liter LT1 V8. The 2002 model year was the last, and its WS6 Trans Am used the 5.7-liter LS1 V8.
