The Pontiac G3 was the North American badge of a small car from Daewoo's Kalos family, which launched in 2002 on the T200 platform with styling by Italdesign Giugiaro. In Canada the car was sold from the 2005 model year as the Pontiac Wave in four- and five-door forms, and Canada renamed it the G3 Wave for 2009. The United States received a G3 only for the 2009 model year, as a hatchback. The T250 facelift sedan debuted in January 2006.
The Pontiac G3 was a subcompact car sold in Canada from the 2005 model year as the Pontiac Wave, renamed G3 Wave for 2009, and in the U.S. for 2009, until Pontiac's shutdown. It was a rebadged Chevrolet Aveo with Daewoo-developed origins. Available primarily as a five-door hatchback, it used a 1.6L four-cylinder driving the front wheels and was aimed at budget-conscious buyers seeking good fuel economy. It sat at the very bottom of Pontiac's range and was among the last new models the brand introduced. The G3 shared virtually all of its engineering with the global Chevrolet/Daewoo Kalos family.
