STORY

Parisienne was a Canadian Pontiac name, built by GM of Canada on Chevrolet underpinnings and sold there from 1958; it became a full model in 1959, as the Impala did, and the Grande Parisienne followed in 1966 as the counterpart to the Caprice. From 1982 the car was based on the Caprice. The United States got it too, imported from Oshawa, Ontario, for the 1983 through 1986 model years, at first with a Caprice-derived front end and a Pontiac grille. A Parisienne wagon ran from 1982 to 1986. GM dropped the line after 1986, and for 1987 Pontiac offered a smaller front-wheel-drive Bonneville instead.
