2000 Sunbird SE 1.8 Turbo

STORY

The front-drive J-body was introduced for the 1982 model year as the J2000, replacing the rear-drive Sunbird, which had skipped the 1981 model year. For 1983 the J prefix was dropped and the car became the 2000, the year a two-door convertible debuted. The whole Pontiac J line took the 2000 Sunbird name for 1984, and in 1985 the 2000 prefix went and it became Sunbird again. The 1982 car had a carbureted 1.8 L OHV four of 88 hp, and a 150 hp turbo 1.8 L was an option from 1984 and powered the GT introduced for 1986. Production was 118,859 for 1982 and 169,290 for 1984.
