STORY

The Pontiac Torrent was a mid-size crossover sold for the 2006 to 2009 model years and built, like the Chevrolet Equinox it was based on, at the CAMI plant in Ingersoll, Ontario. It had its own front and rear styling. The standard 3.4 litre V6 made 185 hp and 210 lb-ft. For 2008 Pontiac added the GXP, powered by a 3.6 litre V6 rated at 264 hp and 250 lb-ft, an engine it shared with the Equinox Sport. The Torrent was discontinued after the 2009 model year, when GM phased out the Pontiac brand.
