STORY

Pontiac showed a Trans Sport concept at the 1986 Chicago Auto Show, and the production minivan followed as a 1990 model, the brand's first. It used GM's front-drive U-body shared with the Chevrolet Lumina APV and Oldsmobile Silhouette. The first engine was a 3.1 litre V6 with 120 hp. A 3.8 litre V6 was added in 1992, and in 1996 a 180 hp 3.4 litre V6 replaced both. First-generation production ended on June 27, 1996, and the second generation of 1997 was later renamed Montana.
