STORY

The Pontiac Vibe was a compact hatchback built by NUMMI in Fremont, California, as a twin of the Toyota Matrix. Production began in 2002 and it went on sale as a 2003 model. The first generation used 1.8 litre Toyota four-cylinders, with the top version rated up to 180 hp before the 2006 retest. A redesigned Vibe, with 1.8 and 2.4 litre engines, was built from 2008 as a 2009 model. GM announced in April 2009 that Pontiac would be discontinued by the end of 2010, and the last Vibe left the line on August 17, 2009.
