The 911 Challenge was presented by Porsche Motorsport on 26 August 2026 as the new entry point to its customer racing ladder. It takes over the role held by the Cayman GT4 Clubsport and later the 718 Cayman GT4 RS Clubsport, moving the first step from a mid-engined Cayman to a rear-engined 911.
The car is built on the 992.2 GT3 and keeps its dimensions and the largely production-derived 4.0-litre flat-six, rated at 379 kW (515 PS) at 8,500 rpm, with a seven-speed PDK. Race-specific parts include a welded roll cage, a 110-litre FT3 fuel tank and 380 mm steel brakes taken from the 911 GT4 R.
It is aimed at Porsche one-make series such as the Challenges and Trophies and, from the 2027 season, at one-make championships worldwide. It is not road legal.
