STORY
The 911 Cup is Porsche's one-make racing car, built to a single specification for the marque's own championships led by the Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup and the many national and regional Carrera Cup series. Because every entrant races an identical car, results turn on driver skill and team preparation, and the model has long been among the most-produced competition cars in the world, uniting professional and amateur drivers on the same grid. The 992-generation 911 GT3 Cup (2021-2025) was the first Cup car on the 992 platform, adopting a wide, GT3 RS-influenced body and a naturally aspirated 4.0-litre flat-six of roughly 510 hp mated to a paddle-shift sequential gearbox, serving as the spec machine across the Supercup and more than thirty Carrera Cup championships. For the 2026 season the car was updated on the 992.2 platform and, in a notable change, renamed simply 911 Cup to more clearly separate Porsche's single-make racers from multi-manufacturer GT-class models. The revised car raised output of its high-revving 4.0-litre engine to 520 hp, introduced a three-piece front spoiler lip so only damaged sections need replacing, added louvred fender vents for front-axle downforce, and runs on a sustainable eFuel blend of nearly 80 percent renewable content.
