STORY

The Gen-2 arrived in 2004 as Proton's first car with its own Campro engine, with heavy Lotus chassis-engineering input, following Proton's ownership of the British marque. Its distinctive hatchback shape and sharp handling marked a shift from rebadged Mitsubishi products toward home-grown design. It shared its platform with the Satria Neo and underpinned the later Persona sedan.
