STORY

The second-generation Laguna was tested by Euro NCAP in March 2001 and became the first car to earn five stars, a result Renault turned into the claim that it was the safest car in the world for occupants. The Laguna II was built at Sandouville, France, from 2001 to 2007, with a mid-life update in 2005. Its successor repeated the result: reports in December 2007 gave the Laguna III with the 2.0 dCi five stars and 36 points, and a Czech report counted it as the ninth Renault with five stars.
