Limited edition of June 2011 built to mark the 8:08 Nurburgring front-drive production-car record; 500 cars worldwide, 50 of them for the UK. New air intake and higher boost add 15 ch over the RS 250: 265 ch at 5500 rpm, 360 Nm at 3000-5000 rpm; 0-62 mph in 6.0 s, 158 mph (255 km/h). Cup chassis carried over unchanged from the 250, Bridgestone RE050A tyres, 19-inch black Speedline wheels with red rim detail. Its engine tune became the standard Megane RS 265 for 2012.

STORY

The Renault Megane is a C-segment family car launched in 1995 and now in its fourth generation, offered over the years as a hatchback, saloon, estate, coupe-cabriolet and the striking Megane II with its distinctive rump. It is best known for the Renault Sport hot hatches, which repeatedly set front-wheel-drive lap records at the Nurburgring, including the RS 265 and RS 275 Trophy-R.
