Renault UK technical specification, manual car: 1798 cc, 205 kW (280 ch) at 6000 rpm, 390 Nm at 3200 rpm, six-speed manual, 255 km/h (158 mph), 0-62 mph 5.8 s, kerb 1437 kg. Offered with Sport or Cup chassis (Cup adds a Torsen limited-slip differential and roughly 10 per cent stiffer springs, dampers and anti-roll bars); a 6-speed EDC auto version had the same power but 250 km/h and 1460 kg. Dropped at the 2020 facelift, when the whole range moved to 300 ch.

STORY

The Renault Megane is a C-segment family car launched in 1995 and now in its fourth generation, offered over the years as a hatchback, saloon, estate, coupe-cabriolet and the striking Megane II with its distinctive rump. It is best known for the Renault Sport hot hatches, which repeatedly set front-wheel-drive lap records at the Nurburgring, including the RS 265 and RS 275 Trophy-R.
