STORY
Renault launched the Megane Scenic in 1996, and it won European Car of the Year for 1997. Renault itself calls it widely regarded as the first compact MPV in European automotive history. It was based on the Megane hatchback. A facelift in 1999 added a 2.0-litre 16-valve engine borrowed from the Laguna and Espace. The third generation was revealed at the Geneva Motor Show in March 2009 as a five-seat Scenic and a seven-seat Grand Scenic.
