The R1S Dual-Motor is a seven-seat electric SUV sold from 2022. Two motors make 665 PS and 829 Nm and drive all four wheels through a single-speed transmission. It reaches 100 km/h in 3.5 seconds and tops out at 180 km/h.

STORY

The R1S is Rivian's three-row electric SUV. It was launched together with the R1T pickup as one of the two vehicles that established the brand, and customer deliveries started in 2022. It shares the quad- or dual-motor skateboard platform with the R1T and offers up to around 400 miles of range with the Max pack. A thoroughly re-engineered second-generation R1S arrived for 2025 with new in-house motors, zonal electronics and a tri-motor option.
