STORY
The 750 is the car that created the brand: SAIC had bought the design of the Rover 75 from MG Rover before it collapsed in 2005, and used it to launch a new marque in 2006. SAIC could not acquire the Rover name, so it coined 'Roewe' instead, and the 750 was essentially a re-engineered Rover 75 with the wheelbase stretched by about 100 mm for Chinese rear-seat buyers. It used a 2.5-litre V6 based on the Rover KV6 and a turbocharged 1.8-litre four based on the Rover K-series. It remained on sale for a decade, until 2016.
