The Ruf CTR was built on the Porsche 911 from 1987 and got the nickname Yellowbird at the 1987 Road & Track test, after its yellow paint. It had a 3.4-litre twin-turbo flat-six with 469 PS and 553 Nm. In 1987 Road & Track tested it at the Volkswagen proving ground at Ehra-Lessien against other fast cars, and it reached 211 mph, with Phil Hill among the test drivers. That made the CTR the fastest car in the test.
