STORY

Saturn showed the Outlook, a seven or eight-passenger crossover, at the New York auto show in April 2006 as a 2007 model. It rode on GM's Lambda platform shared with the GMC Acadia and Buick Enclave and was built at Delta Township near Lansing, Michigan. Its 3.6-liter V6 and six-speed automatic came in front or all-wheel drive, rated at 270 hp in production with single exhaust and five more with dual exhaust, after 265 and 267 hp had been announced at the show. NHTSA's February 2007 list put it among 17 SUVs with five stars for all seating positions. For 2009 a direct-injection 3.6 raised output to 281 hp with single exhaust and 288 hp with dual exhaust.
