STORY

The LS was the first of the three sedans in the Saturn L-series, the midsize line launched in May 1999 for the 2000 model year. It used the 2.2-liter four-cylinder rated at 137 hp, with a five-speed manual standard, while the 3.0-liter V6 was reserved for the LS2. The LS name lasted one model year, since for 2001 the sedans became the L100, L200 and L300. The line was built in Wilmington, Delaware, was restyled with larger headlights in 2003, and ended with the 2005 model year.
