STORY
The Seat Ibiza, launched in 1984, is Seat's flagship supermini and best-known model, named after the Balearic island. The original was styled by Giugiaro with bodywork engineering by Karmann and engines developed with Porsche, badged 'System Porsche'. From the second generation onwards it moved onto Volkswagen Group platforms, and hot Cupra and GTI versions gave the Ibiza a genuine sporting reputation.
