STORY

The Rapid that went into series production at Mladá Boleslav in August 2012 was the third model built there after the Fabia and Octavia, sitting between them in the range and carrying Škoda's new design language first. Production began before the show debut: the world premiere followed at the Paris Motor Show in September 2012, and European sales were to start gradually from October. The liftback is about 448 cm long with a 550 litre boot, 1,490 litres with the rear seats folded. Škoda also announced a China version for 2013, built there, and production in Kaluga, Russia from 2014.
