STORY

The Slavia is a compact sedan that Škoda developed in India as the second car of its India 2.0 project, after the Kushaq SUV. It was presented on 18 November 2021 and is built on the MQB-A0-IN platform, a version of the Volkswagen Group toolkit adapted for India, with localisation of up to 95 percent. Production at the Chakan plant in Pune was announced on 21 January 2022, and the 1.0 TSI was launched with prices and deliveries on 28 February 2022, a three-cylinder turbo petrol rated at 115 PS. The 1.5 TSI with 150 PS followed, with its prices announced on 3 March 2022. Škoda had called the two outputs provisional at the reveal, pending homologation.
