STORY
The Yeti (type 5L) is the compact SUV that Škoda calls its first SUV. A production version was unveiled at the Geneva show on 3 March 2009, after two concepts in 2005, and series production began at Kvasiny on 3 April 2009. Sales started in the Czech Republic and Germany on 15 July 2009, with the 1.2-litre 77 kW petrol arriving only in October. It sat on the Octavia platform and was offered with front or all-wheel drive. A broad update followed in 2013 and a Monte Carlo version in 2014. The 500,000th Yeti left Kvasiny in October 2015, a Monte Carlo in Corrida Red, and the Karoq arrived as successor in 2017.
