ZC6 · 2012–2016RWD

Listed simply as BRZ 2.0, this is the plain manual coupe of the first generation's launch phase, from 2012 to 2016. The 2.0-litre flat-four delivers about 200 horsepower to the rear wheels, and the car came from the same project as the Toyota 86. The original bumper and halogen projector headlamps mark it as an early example.

STORY

The Subaru BRZ is a rear-wheel-drive sports coupe co-developed with Toyota (sold as the 86/GT86), launched in 2012 with a naturally aspirated boxer engine mounted low for a balanced chassis. The first generation used a 2.0-liter FA20, while the second generation from 2021 upgraded to a 2.4-liter FA24 for stronger mid-range torque. It is valued for its light weight and handling aimed at the driver rather than outright power.
