ZD8 · 2021–presentRWD

The BRZ 2.4 Automatic is the six-speed automatic version of the second-generation ZD8 coupe, in production since 2021. The new 2.4-litre FA24 flat-four replaces the old 2.0 and makes 228 hp (SAE), the same as the manual. Drive goes to the rear wheels, and this is the choice for drivers who do not want a clutch pedal.

STORY

The Subaru BRZ is a rear-wheel-drive sports coupe co-developed with Toyota (sold as the 86/GT86), launched in 2012 with a naturally aspirated boxer engine mounted low for a balanced chassis. The first generation used a 2.0-liter FA20, while the second generation from 2021 upgraded to a 2.4-liter FA24 for stronger mid-range torque. It is valued for its light weight and handling aimed at the driver rather than outright power.
