This is the facelifted European Forester 2.0 Turbo, the EJ205 turbocharged four-cylinder now rated at 177 PS, up from 170 PS before the update. It is an all-wheel-drive SUV with a manual gearbox, sold in Europe from 2000 to 2002 with the restyled front end, new grille and revised bumpers and lights of the SF facelift.

STORY

The Subaru Forester debuted in 1997 as a compact crossover SUV built on the Impreza platform, blending wagon practicality with raised ground clearance and standard all-wheel drive. It grew steadily larger and more SUV-like across generations while retaining boxer engines, including turbocharged XT models in the earlier years. It remains one of Subaru's core global models, moving to the Subaru Global Platform with the SK generation.
