Forester 2.0XT (SG)

The Forester 2.0XT kept its 220 PS EJ205 turbocharged four-cylinder through the 2005 facelift of the SG. It is the Japan-market turbo version, all-wheel drive with an automatic gearbox, built from 2005 to 2007 with the new front fascia, grille and headlights. In Europe the 2.0 XT was rated at 177 PS.

STORY

The Subaru Forester debuted in 1997 as a compact crossover SUV built on the Impreza platform, blending wagon practicality with raised ground clearance and standard all-wheel drive. It grew steadily larger and more SUV-like across generations while retaining boxer engines, including turbocharged XT models in the earlier years. It remains one of Subaru's core global models, moving to the Subaru Global Platform with the SK generation.
