The Forester 2.0D is the European version with the EE20 boxer turbodiesel, a 2.0-litre four-cylinder rated at 147 PS, with all-wheel drive and a manual gearbox. It belongs to the facelifted SJ with the LED projectors, C-shaped daytime lights and hexagonal grille, and was sold from 2015 to 2018. A Lineartronic CVT became available in the later years.

STORY

The Subaru Forester debuted in 1997 as a compact crossover SUV built on the Impreza platform, blending wagon practicality with raised ground clearance and standard all-wheel drive. It grew steadily larger and more SUV-like across generations while retaining boxer engines, including turbocharged XT models in the earlier years. It remains one of Subaru's core global models, moving to the Subaru Global Platform with the SK generation.
