The Forester 2.0i continued in Japan after the October 2015 facelift of the SJ with the FB20 2.0-litre four-cylinder at 148 PS, all-wheel drive and a Lineartronic CVT. Europe rated the same engine at 150 PS. Built from 2015 to 2018, it has the LED projectors with C-shaped daytime running lights, the hexagonal grille and new tail lights.

STORY

The Subaru Forester debuted in 1997 as a compact crossover SUV built on the Impreza platform, blending wagon practicality with raised ground clearance and standard all-wheel drive. It grew steadily larger and more SUV-like across generations while retaining boxer engines, including turbocharged XT models in the earlier years. It remains one of Subaru's core global models, moving to the Subaru Global Platform with the SK generation.
