Impreza WRC (two-door GC)

WRC97 · 1997–1997AWD

The 1997 Impreza WRC was Subaru's first World Rally Car, built on a two-door coupe bodyshell with a wider track. Its turbocharged 2.0-litre four-cylinder engine made roughly 300 horsepower, sent through a sequential gearbox to all four wheels. It took the manufacturers' title at the first attempt, and the two-door shell stayed in use through the 2000 season.
