KA5/KA8 · 1985–1988AWD

The Justy 1.2 4WD is the four-wheel-drive version of the first-generation Justy before the November 1988 facelift, a three-cylinder supermini that was unusual for offering all-wheel drive in so small a car. Its 1.2-litre engine makes about 68 horsepower and is paired with a manual gearbox. The 1.2-litre engine was added in Japan in 1985 and reached Europe and the United States in 1987.

STORY

The Subaru Justy is a subcompact economy car first launched in 1984, notable for offering a three-cylinder engine and available all-wheel drive with an early ECVT continuously variable transmission. Later Justy models sold in Europe were rebadged from other makers, including a Suzuki-based version in the 2000s. It served as Subaru's entry-level small car in many markets.
