Legacy 2.0 Turbo RS

BC/BJ · 1991–1993AWD

The Legacy 2.0 Turbo RS is the Japanese-market performance sedan of the BC/BJ Legacy, here in its June 1991 facelift form, sold from 1991 to 1993. Its turbocharged 2.0-litre four-cylinder (EJ20G) makes 220 PS and sends power to all four wheels through a five-speed manual, the only gearbox offered. The RS had topped the Legacy range since 1989, and export versions of the car carried a lower 200 PS rating.

STORY

The Subaru Legacy is a mid-size car launched in 1989 as Subaru's flagship, offered in sedan and wagon forms with boxer engines and signature symmetrical all-wheel drive. It spawned the rugged Outback wagon and won acclaim for its turbocharged GT models and rally-derived engineering. The nameplate ran for seven generations, with production ending in the mid-2020s in its final markets.
