The Legacy 2.5GT Sedan was the turbocharged Legacy for the US, sold from 2004 to 2006 on the fourth generation (BL). Its 2.5-litre EJ255 boxer four is rated at about 250 hp (SAE) and pairs with a manual gearbox and all-wheel drive. The US market did not get the 2.0-litre turbo sold in Japan, so the 2.5GT carried the performance role in America.

STORY

The Subaru Legacy is a mid-size car launched in 1989 as Subaru's flagship, offered in sedan and wagon forms with boxer engines and signature symmetrical all-wheel drive. It spawned the rugged Outback wagon and won acclaim for its turbocharged GT models and rally-derived engineering. The nameplate ran for seven generations, with production ending in the mid-2020s in its final markets.
