The Legacy 2.5GT is the turbocharged sedan of the fifth-generation Legacy (BM) in the US, built from 2009 to 2012. Its 2.5-litre EJ255 boxer four is rated at 265 hp (SAE) and drives all four wheels. That was more than the 256 hp of the 3.6R six, which made the 2.5GT the performance model of the US lineup.

STORY

The Subaru Legacy is a mid-size car launched in 1989 as Subaru's flagship, offered in sedan and wagon forms with boxer engines and signature symmetrical all-wheel drive. It spawned the rugged Outback wagon and won acclaim for its turbocharged GT models and rally-derived engineering. The nameplate ran for seven generations, with production ending in the mid-2020s in its final markets.
