It uses the 2.5-litre FB25 four-cylinder boxer, which replaced the EJ25 in 2012, making 173 hp. Power goes to all four wheels, usually through a CVT, though a six-speed manual was also offered on the US 2.5i.

STORY

The Subaru Legacy is a mid-size car launched in 1989 as Subaru's flagship, offered in sedan and wagon forms with boxer engines and signature symmetrical all-wheel drive. It spawned the rugged Outback wagon and won acclaim for its turbocharged GT models and rally-derived engineering. The nameplate ran for seven generations, with production ending in the mid-2020s in its final markets.
