The Legacy 3.6R sedan for the US market, sold from 2017 to 2019 in the facelift phase of the sixth generation. It keeps the 3.6-litre EZ36 boxer six with 256 hp, a CVT and all-wheel drive. By then it was the only six-cylinder Legacy left, since Japan had already dropped the 3.6 in this generation.

STORY

The Subaru Legacy is a mid-size car launched in 1989 as Subaru's flagship, offered in sedan and wagon forms with boxer engines and signature symmetrical all-wheel drive. It spawned the rugged Outback wagon and won acclaim for its turbocharged GT models and rally-derived engineering. The nameplate ran for seven generations, with production ending in the mid-2020s in its final markets.
