The Leone GL 1.8 3-door Coupe is the front-wheel-drive three-door of the US third-generation range, sold until 1987. The 1.8-litre EA82 boxer four makes 90 hp, with a manual gearbox. The 3-door body reached US showrooms around mid 1986, and it was the sportier-looking two-wheel-drive body set against the 4WD wagon in the same lineup.

STORY

The Subaru Leone was a compact car produced from 1971 to 1994, serving as Subaru's mainstream global model and one of the first mass produced four-wheel-drive passenger cars. Sold in sedan, coupe, wagon, and hatchback forms, it spread Subaru's flat-four AWD reputation worldwide, especially in snowy and rural markets. The Impreza replaced it in 1994, with the Legacy covering the larger end of the range.
