The Leone GL 1.8 4WD Wagon is the US four-wheel-drive estate of the third-generation launch phase, sold from 1985 to 1987. It uses the 1.8-litre EA82 single-overhead-cam boxer four rated at 90 hp, with a manual gearbox. A naturally aspirated, no-frills family wagon, it carried the Leone's all-weather reputation into the 1980s.

STORY

The Subaru Leone was a compact car produced from 1971 to 1994, serving as Subaru's mainstream global model and one of the first mass produced four-wheel-drive passenger cars. Sold in sedan, coupe, wagon, and hatchback forms, it spread Subaru's flat-four AWD reputation worldwide, especially in snowy and rural markets. The Impreza replaced it in 1994, with the Legacy covering the larger end of the range.
