Loyale 1.8 Wagon FWD

AA/AL · 1987–1994FWD

The Loyale 1.8 Wagon FWD is the two-wheel-drive estate of the restyled third-generation Leone, sold in the US from 1987 to 1994. It uses the 1.8-litre EA82 boxer four with 90 hp and a manual gearbox. For buyers who wanted the wagon's cargo space without paying for four-wheel drive, it was the cheaper way in, and it lasted until the Loyale ended in 1994.

STORY

The Subaru Leone was a compact car produced from 1971 to 1994, serving as Subaru's mainstream global model and one of the first mass produced four-wheel-drive passenger cars. Sold in sedan, coupe, wagon, and hatchback forms, it spread Subaru's flat-four AWD reputation worldwide, especially in snowy and rural markets. The Impreza replaced it in 1994, with the Legacy covering the larger end of the range.
