Loyale RS Turbo Coupe 4WD

AA/AL · 1989–19904WD

The Loyale RS Turbo Coupe 4WD is the sporty three-door of the restyled third-generation Leone in the US, sold in 1989 and 1990. Its 1.8-litre EA82T turbo boxer makes 115 hp net, with a four-speed automatic and full-time four-wheel drive. It arrived around mid-1989, and all turbo Loyales were dropped for 1991, which makes the RS Turbo a short-lived model.

STORY

The Subaru Leone was a compact car produced from 1971 to 1994, serving as Subaru's mainstream global model and one of the first mass produced four-wheel-drive passenger cars. Sold in sedan, coupe, wagon, and hatchback forms, it spread Subaru's flat-four AWD reputation worldwide, especially in snowy and rural markets. The Impreza replaced it in 1994, with the Legacy covering the larger end of the range.
