The Legacy Outback 2.5XT (BP) is a Japan-only limited edition of the BP Legacy Outback built for Subaru's 50th anniversary, offered from May 2008 as the 2.5XT and the 2.5XT EyeSight, 2000 cars in total. Its 2.5-litre EJ255 turbo four makes 265 PS, and it was the first 2.5-litre turbo in a Japanese Legacy. It has an automatic gearbox and all-wheel drive and was sold in 2008-2009.

STORY

The Outback launched in 1994 as a raised version of the Legacy wagon with off-road trim, credited with helping popularize the crossover concept in North America. It grew into a standalone nameplate with permanent symmetrical all-wheel drive and boxer engines, remaining one of Subaru's best-selling models.
