The Outback 2.0D (BS) is the diesel Outback of the launch phase of the fifth generation, built around CVT drivetrains and EyeSight driver assistance across the range. The 2.0-litre EE20 turbodiesel boxer makes 150 PS and uses a CVT with all-wheel drive, though a six-speed manual was also offered. It was sold in Europe and Australia from 2014 to 2017.

STORY

The Outback launched in 1994 as a raised version of the Legacy wagon with off-road trim, credited with helping popularize the crossover concept in North America. It grew into a standalone nameplate with permanent symmetrical all-wheel drive and boxer engines, remaining one of Subaru's best-selling models.
