The Legacy Outback 1.8 Turbo (BT) is the Japanese-market Legacy Outback of the sixth generation, announced in October 2021 in X-BREAK and Limited forms. Its only engine is the 1.8-litre CB18 turbo four-cylinder, rated at 177 PS, with a CVT and all-wheel drive. It is a smaller engine than the 2.4 turbo cars sold elsewhere. This version was sold in 2021-2022, the launch phase.

STORY

The Outback launched in 1994 as a raised version of the Legacy wagon with off-road trim, credited with helping popularize the crossover concept in North America. It grew into a standalone nameplate with permanent symmetrical all-wheel drive and boxer engines, remaining one of Subaru's best-selling models.
