Truck 0.66 4WD

KS/KV · 1992–19954WD

The Sambar Truck 0.66 4WD of 1992 to 1995 is the four-wheel-drive pickup of the facelifted fifth-generation Subaru Sambar, sold in international markets. A four-cylinder engine of 0.66 litres gives about 40 PS with a manual gearbox. The September 1992 facelift gave the generation rectangular headlamps, and this truck kept the rear-engine layout beneath the bed.

STORY

The Sambar is Subaru's kei truck and microvan, introduced in 1961 with a rear-engine, rear- or all-wheel-drive layout unusual for its class. Prized for traction and packaging, it was built in-house for decades before becoming a rebadged Daihatsu Hijet in 2012.
