Truck 0.66 4WD

KS/KV · 1995–19994WD

The Sambar Truck 0.66 4WD of 1995 to 1999 is the four-wheel-drive pickup of the third phase of the fifth-generation Subaru Sambar, sold in international markets. A four-cylinder engine of 0.66 litres gives about 46 horsepower with a manual gearbox. This phase followed the October 1995 update, which fitted the injected EN07F, and the truck began sharing some parts, such as bumpers, with the Daihatsu Hijet.

STORY

The Sambar is Subaru's kei truck and microvan, introduced in 1961 with a rear-engine, rear- or all-wheel-drive layout unusual for its class. Prized for traction and packaging, it was built in-house for decades before becoming a rebadged Daihatsu Hijet in 2012.
