The Sambar Van 0.66 KF-VE 4WD of 2017 to 2022 is the naturally aspirated all-wheel-drive van of the seventh generation's facelifted phase, which began in November 2017. Its three-cylinder KF-VE makes 53 PS with a four-speed automatic and a selective AWD system. It was sold in Japan as the non-turbo four-wheel-drive option.

The Sambar is Subaru's kei truck and microvan, introduced in 1961 with a rear-engine, rear- or all-wheel-drive layout unusual for its class. Prized for traction and packaging, it was built in-house for decades before becoming a rebadged Daihatsu Hijet in 2012.
