The Sambar Van 0.66 KF-VE 4WD is the CVT all-wheel-drive van of the eighth generation (S700B and S710B), a rebadged Daihatsu Hijet Cargo sold in Japan from 2022. Its naturally aspirated 0.66-litre three-cylinder KF-VE makes 53 PS and works with a continuously variable transmission and a three-mode electronic 4WD system. It is the non-turbo AWD van of the line.

The Sambar is Subaru's kei truck and microvan, introduced in 1961 with a rear-engine, rear- or all-wheel-drive layout unusual for its class. Prized for traction and packaging, it was built in-house for decades before becoming a rebadged Daihatsu Hijet in 2012.
