The R2 R is the Japanese-market front-drive R grade of the Subaru R2 (RC1/RC2), a five-door kei hatchback built in-house and sold from 2003 to 2010. Its 0.658-litre DOHC four-cylinder (EN07D) is naturally aspirated and makes 54 PS, sent to the front wheels through a CVT. It is the middle step between the 46 PS i and the supercharged S.

STORY

The R2 was a five-door kei car launched in 2003 as a stylish choice beside the Pleo, featuring curvaceous styling and Subaru-built four-cylinder engines. It was among the last kei cars Subaru engineered in-house before switching to rebadged Daihatsu models.
