The R2 R AWD is the all-wheel-drive take on the R grade of the Subaru R2 (RC1/RC2), a five-door kei hatchback sold in Japan from 2003 to 2010. It keeps the naturally aspirated 0.658-litre EN07D four-cylinder with 54 PS and a CVT, but powers all four wheels. For a normally aspirated kei car, the 4WD layout is the main reason to pick it over the front-drive R.

STORY

The R2 was a five-door kei car launched in 2003 as a stylish choice beside the Pleo, featuring curvaceous styling and Subaru-built four-cylinder engines. It was among the last kei cars Subaru engineered in-house before switching to rebadged Daihatsu models.
